Gary lives in Suffolk and is one of the United Kingdom’s leading coloured pencil artists. He is a founder member of the UK Coloured Pencil Society; a society set up to promote this fine art medium.
His work ranges from family, pet and celebrity portraits to wildlife and equine studies. He says of his wildlife and equine art “Coloured Pencil is the perfect medium for capturing the beauty of animals, every hair, every muscle, every breath of life”.
Gary can be privately commissioned. His beautiful and highly detailed works are very much in demand. We have on display as part of the exhibition four commissioned pieces, which are being shown by kind permission of their owners.
Gary also teaches coloured pencil techniques in workshops here at the Gallery. The Derwent Cumberland Pencil Company, for whom Gary is an accredited demonstrator, supports his workshops. A range of courses is run to suit both beginners and more advanced artists alike. The next workshop dates are Monday 10th May and Monday 14th June 2004. Please enquire at the Gallery for more details and a booking form.
Gary has had a number of successful solo exhibitions including a show at the National Horseracing Museum in Newmarket, Suffolk. His work is in private collections in the UK and Europe.
We are very pleased to be showing this delightful collection of Gary’s
work, which includes animals, people and landscapes.
