Magdalena Morey - Biography

Having always been interested in arts and crafts, Magdalena is continually experimenting with mixed media techniques and various subject matter. She has developed her own unique techniques incorporating the use of plaster and oil, glue, glass paints, pastels and paper. She also continues to work with more traditional methods and subjects.

The figurative pieces exhibit her desire to find ways of representing female expression. Each of these pieces is a unique combination of acrylic, pastels and poster colour techniques which share parallels with her emotional development at the time.

Magdalena graduated in Textiles from Cyprian Kamil Norwid college at the age of nineteen in her hometown of Lublin, Poland and went on to study Painting in the nearby Maria Curie-Sklodowska University for five years. During this time at university and then after graduating, she worked as an artist in a small company producing numerous works that were sold all over the country. In 2005 she moved to Cambridge and started exhibiting her work almost immediately in various venues around the city.
