Artist's Biography
Caroline Hyde-BrownI graduated in 1995 from Nottingham & Trent University with a BA (Hons) Degree on Textile Design. Since then I have worked freelance combining exhibition work with teaching and producing greetings cards. Inspiration is usually derived from a variety of natural sources and I am currently involved with different times of the day and the way light affects colours on landscapes. I endeavour to create a dialogue of stitch, pastel and fabric using the handmade Kozo paper as my canvas. I hope the pictures speak for themselves as images and not solely representations
of the subject from which they derive. Important consideration is given
to structure, movement, space and balance. My work is never uniform
and the use of hand dyed wood combined with iridescent pastels offer
exceptional colour, freer expression and light reflecting qualities.
