Diana Catchpole
Since graduating from the Cambridge School of Art, with a distinction
in general illustration I have illustrated many children’s books,
wildlife articles and magazines. It is only recently that I have become
interested in showing my own work. This has allowed me the luxury of
experimenting with subject matter and various mediums.
Animals are my passion and having spent my childhood in Kenya and Zimbabwe,
I have been lucky to experience the native wildlife at close hand. I
have since been back to visit and have built up a collection of photos
and sketches that serve as reference for my work.
The subject influences my choice of medium as I endeavour to bring out
the characteristic of each animal – with a little artistic license!
