Christmas Exhibition 2007

Our Christmas show contains a wonderful range of work from many of our favourite artists. We will have a diverse and colourful collection of original paintings, prints, photographs, gifts and much more.

We are proud to show paintings and drawings by local artists and to introduce new names into the gallery. Some artists you may recognise – John Glover, Katherine Fairy, Sue Walker, Janet Rogers, Sylke Claridge, to name but a few!

New pieces to the gallery include some of the latest prints by Sue Howells, special edition prints by Quentin Blake and Beatrix Potter and two striking prints by Ian Faulkner. A print by Storm Thorgerson celebrating 40 years of Pink Floyd, features all of the album covers designed by Thorgerson, an exceptional piece, it is an edition of 160, sure to be a sell out.

During December we will be open until 5pm on the following days: 5th, 6th, 12th, 14th, 18th, 19th, 20th & 21st. The Gallery will close at 4pm on Saturday 22nd December 2007.
We will re-open on Thursday 3rd & Friday 4th, and then as usual on Tuesday 8th January 2008.

Natural Beauty

Janet Rogers Janet Roger’s work is very much influenced by the work of Samuel Palmer, a 19th Century English painter. The most recent work is abstract using mixed media and special techniques, incorporating gold leaf. Her style has a timeless quality and the colours compliment and harmonize with any setting. Due to the success of her work, Janet Rogers has been published by leading fine art printers, who produced several of her paintings as limited edition prints. She paints full time from her studio in Kent.

Kay Elliott Kay is Fascinated by the complex structure of flowers and excited by their beauty. Spontaneous, fresh, contemporary but carefully observed, her work has been likened to that of Dame Elizabeth Blackadder RA OBE. Creating the balance between the delicacy of petals and their intensity of colour seems to come easily to her – producing paintings that are both decorative and beautiful, with gorgeous colours and elegant forms. Kay Elliott’s work has been reproduced on cards and now is on 15 fantastic soft furnishing

The Summer Exhibition 2007
June 22nd to July 31st

	Nicola Collard’s work features figures, using line and colour with a fresh and dynamic approach. An essence of fun and flair is conveyed in her work.
Gail de Cordova’s box canvases of colour are decorated with collage and mixed media, which achieve intensity and subtle movement.
	Darryl Nantais’s series of Fenland landscapes bring a contemporary feel to his traditional oil paintings, with looser brush strokes and big dramatic skies.
Sue Walker’s paintings portray mood and colour; she includes in her work the complex rhythms, textures and colour harmonies of nature working in acrylics and mixed media.

Modern British Masters
Preview 11th May, Exhibition continues until 9th June

A first for the Darryl Nantais Gallery, a show featuring some of Britain’s most famous Masters in art and print-making.

We will be showing a wonderfully exciting collection of work from Royal Acadamicians Sir Peter Blake, Donald Hamilton Fraser, Sir Terry Frost and Sandra Blow. Influences from the British Pop Art Movement and British Abstract Movement among others combine to give a unique quality and style to each of the artists’ work.

Other very well known names, which will be featuring, include Molly Parkin, who exhibits at the Tate and has a permanent display at the Royal Pavilion in Brighton, Bruce McLean, Chloe Cheese, Brendan Neiland and local artist Charlotte Cornish.

This promises to be an inspiring and distinctive show.

These artists are in great demand and highly collectable, therefore, please check for availability.
